Biomedical device development

We develop biomedical devices for the companies that manufacture them: from concept to small series, through detailed design, prototypes and industrialisation. From our Innovation Lab in Navacchio, near Pisa.

  • From concept to small series
  • Industrial design, mechanical and electromechanical design
  • Functional and pre-production prototypes
  • Non-disclosure agreement before the details

The 4 stages of device development

With every prototype round the design is updated against the test results, until the device does what it has to do.

  1. Conceptual designWe find and test the possible solutions.
  2. Detailed designWe develop and refine the chosen concept.
  3. Prototyping and testingWe build and test the pre-production prototype.
  4. Production supportWe find and follow the suppliers for the series.

What we do

  • Specification and layoutDefinition of the product specification and general layout study.
  • Industrial designIndustrial design of the external shapes.
  • Detailed designMechanical and electromechanical design and design of plastic components, including injection moulding.
  • SimulationAnalysis of physical phenomena, sizing and structural simulation.
  • PrototypesProduction drawings and functional prototypes.
  • IndustrialisationSupplier selection, assembly optimisation and production equipment.

CE marking and compliance

CE marking and the regulatory documentation of the device usually remain with the manufacturer. When needed, we can support you: we provide the technical design documentation (drawings, specifications, calculations and test results) and help you along the way to CE marking.

We sign a non-disclosure agreement before going into the details of the project.
