The project
We worked with a shipyard on the structural analysis of existing equipment used for the maintenance of medium-sized boats: hull support equipment and special lifting equipment.
How we worked
As the equipment was already in use, where necessary we surveyed it and rebuilt it through reverse engineering. The analyses, carried out with both FEM tools and hand calculations, follow EN 1090 and the Eurocodes and, for the lifting equipment, EN 13155, and are used to prepare the technical file for CE marking.
